To apply for the AIA NEI 2026 Scholarship
All materials must be received by Friday, April 17, 2026, 11:59 pm. Finalists will be selected and notified in early May for personal interviews with the AIA NEI Scholarship Committee. Interviews will be conducted between May 11th through May 29th either in person or via Zoom. Winners will be notified the week of June 1, 2026. In fairness to all, no exceptions will be granted. An incomplete application or one without letters of recommendation and/or transcript will not be considered. No materials will be returned. Past scholarship recipients are ineligible. The year covered by this scholarship is July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027. Please do not call the AIA NEI office for information on the status of your application. All submitters will be contacted May 8, 2026, as to the status of their application. Scholarship Program's HistorySince 1988, the AIA Northeast Illinois Chapter has supported students pursuing careers in architecture through its scholarship program. The program is funded in large part by the chapter’s annual golf outing, which has been a vital source of support in building and sustaining this important initiative. In recent years, the chapter has awarded two $3,000 scholarships annually to students who live within the chapter’s boundaries and are enrolled in an architecture program at one of 28 qualifying universities. AIA NEI is proud to continue—and grow—this long-standing tradition of investing in the future of the architectural profession.
